Week 8 is here so we give thanks to the Lord for his protection over our school and community.
It has been a fantastic term of learning and we have some budding Scientists, Literary artists and possible Sports stars in our Rise UP nest. Check out Eden Pasene’s ‘(year 5) draft writing of her Book titled ‘Warrior Cats’
Thank you to you all for continuing to support the school and our children’s learning, trips and PATH meetings.
Stay safe over the next few weeks and be encouraged by
Isaiah 9:6-7
“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”

Year 8s – the world is your oyster!

What an opportunity! We have a total of 5 year 8 students and 4 were given such a warming introduction to the life of a world outside of school.
The Red Agency Book sponsored our year 8 students to a trip that gave each of them a purpose of why it is important to have literacy and numeracy under your belt when learning in school. Very inspirational speakers spoke about their journey of success and how they wished they had looked at school being really important. Our Year 8 students got a tour around the Pacific Business Hub who have a lot of entrepreneurs and then finally meeting an old former worker at Rise UP – Miss Lorna who now works at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT). It was a pleasure hearing her story and beginning with Rise UP as her passion for teaching and knowing it has helped her look wider outside her comfort zone. The Year 8 students left with a vision of hope, desire and an abundance of  ideas of a promising future.
